The Hand Model - @tiwane Looked a little more...frilly...than slick, average Kelp crab. @gbentall @kueda ?

The whole P. richii vs. P. gracilis thing is still confusing to me. Are those spines on the carapace or just bumps. Are the lateral carapace teeth projecting at a sharp angle? The claws are definitely blue-tinged gray with white tips, so I guess I'll go with P. gracilis.

Super camo on this guy. Carapace around 5-7 cm in. Unlike similar majid crabs that decorate their shells with algae, these crabs usually let encrusting animals grow there instead.
-
I think this might be a female, with the more slender claws. An unusual crab that doesn't match what I usually see around here, so I hope I've ID it correctly.
