Several small flocks of parakeets seen in the forests on Tiritiri, but this individual was the only one that didn't fly away as I approached. It was sitting out in the open, eating meadow grass.

male at entrance to nest in Fuchsia excorticata. The mesh visible at the base of the hole had been placed to discourage kaka from using the hole years earlier. The same trunk has an artificial nest box attached which I was monitoring at the time this wee fulla turned up.

Kakariki was first heard, then seen feeding on wineberry. The sounds of the fruit dropping from the tree sounded like rain.

Banded, Feeding on millet at feed-station. Could only make out a single pink band on right leg, left leg appears to be a double length yellow one.

More diaspora from Zealandia. I saw a couple dart over head. Heard them chattering in the trees, eventually came across a couple in a tree near the stream. But they were being a bit camera shy.
