This is one of those groups of birds which do not lend themselves to identification with a marginal quality image like this. We heard a Nutting's Flycatcher call on the edge of thorn scrub forest. The vocalizations of the species are fairly distinctive as compared to the other similar Myiarchus species. We played a little playback call and the bird came near us briefly and landed on a fence post, called again then left. This species is most similar to species such as Ash-throated Flycatcher, Dusky-capped Flycatcher, etc. The vocalizations are species specific.
