Elizabeth and I were headed down to the Big Thicket BioBlitz, but we had to make a few fabric store stops... This was at Ross Fabric and Crafts in Zavalla. I explored on the roadside -- it was actually really nice. :) I'll work on ID's of these observations later on -- I wanted to get them uploaded first. :)

On my way down to the Texas Master Naturalist state conference, I stopped at a few state parks I hadn't been to before. Fort Boggy State Park was closed for hunting, but I was able to talk to the park superintendent to let me explore some of the areas that weren't being used for the public hunt.

On the way home from the Texas Master Naturalist conference, I stopped by Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park. It's a really cool historic park with lots of interpretive signage. As is the case with all state parks in TX, there was lots of nature all around too. :)

Before presenting to the East Texas Master Naturalists about Teaming with Wildlife, I went and explored along this right of way north of Lindale. Saw some pretty neat plants! :)
-
Spent a day with some botanists looking for populations of rough stem aster. We spotted a couple populations but also noticed lots of other cool plants! :)

Had a wonderful time with the East Texas Master Naturalists today. Presented on botany, then led a little field trip around the Nature Center in Tyler. As I was heading back home on I20, I saw another massive patch of wildflowers outside of Van -- so I had to stop again. A few of these I'll have to work on ID's later on -- just wanted to get them uploaded first. :)

Had a wonderful time with the East Texas Master Naturalists today. Presented on botany, then led a little field trip around the Nature Center in Tyler. I stopped to get some gas in Canton and went to this park that I've been to once before. This is an amazing park -- if you find yourself in Canton and want to see some nature, check out Cherry Creek Park! It's the closest place to DFW where you can spot sundews (Drosera) I think. A few of these I'll have to work on ID's later on -- just wanted to get them uploaded first. :)
