Northwest of Milnesand, Roosevelt County, New Mexico in shinnery-oak/grassland. Jackrabbits seem more abundant in New Mexico this year than the last few, presumably due to some lessening of drought conditions. This one popped up in front of me as I was walking at sun-up.

I was collecting sea shells in Corpus Christi when I surprised this Jack Rabbit. Was able to snap off a couple shots before it disappeared.
