Spotted from car, stayed far away but visual for several minutes. Looked healthy, curious but cautious.

"5-6 Red foxes were observed - two parents and about 4 pups. Only two of the pups were brave enough to come out of hiding and ""interact"" with humans."

I was passing by Cat's Alley in an early evening when I saw several skunks, raccoons and one opossum eating the food people leave for the cats. They were so busy that they did not mind me staying close by (maybe about 5 m away). More skunks came and eventually there were six of them. However, at that point they started to fight. I tried to take a photo of the six skunks together but one left soon after, and I feared that I would get sprayed by them, so I also left. I caught five skunks in a few photos (http://www.inaturalist.org/observations/4669180)

What a wonderful sighting: mom with her 3 or 4 cubs emerging from their den in the evening sun, then dispersing in various directions for a little hunt, giving me plenty of opportunity to investigate the den and prey remains. I would appreciate IDs of the prey remains, which are partly added as separate observations: www.inaturalist.org/observations/1502261 www.inaturalist.org/observations/1502265

Sorry for the photo quality, observation was done under better light conditions. The animal was quite large and heavy built, with strong legs and a rather short tail, reasons for me to exclude L. wiedii. Photo courtesy of Patrick Lariault.

Such an odd species - no dorsal fin, long and thin body with tiny flukes only a foot across. But boy can they speed! First time seeing them today, what a treat. I posted a video to Facebook of them porpoising: https://www.facebook.com/robin.agarwal.14
