There were a number of these introduced frogs calling from alongside this wooded creek. I only put n=2 because that's all you hear in the recordings.

I have included a fairly long recording to try to capture some of the variation seen in the calls of this species for comparison to E. planirostris which has similar calls. These two species are becoming sympatric along the gulf coast due to recent spread of the species (cystignathoides from the west/south and planirostris from the east).

Audio vouchers available at the following links -http://www.naherp.com/vouchers/124881-152084.mp3 These frogs were calling quite conspicuously from the edge of this freshwater marsh. They actually were calling a little in the day as well, but really chimed up at night. I only got a good recording of one (or two?), but I counted a minimum of eight individuals calling.

Audio vouchers available at the following links - http://www.naherp.com/vouchers/87077-108121.mp3 Two of these frogs were heard calling from some Cattails in a freshwater marsh created by the water treatment facility. This water may be slightly brackish, since it has Swimmer Crabs and Nerodia clarkii living in it. It seemed an unusual habitat for Chirping Frogs.
