Tiger beetles were getting it on right and left. I've seen C. oregona previously at Abbotts Lagoon, but the white marking extending almost all around the elytral margin is making me think it might be something else... Update: a BugGuide user reports the Pt. Reyes population may be separated into a separate species: http://bugguide.net/node/view/638496

The male here has the interrupted marginal stripe of C. repanda, so I'm guessing all of them were that species, since it's supposed to be common and the alternative, C. hirticollis, is uncommon in CT. Still, *most* of the individuals I photographed did not have the interrupted margin.
