A pretty sketchy park -- lots of homeless folks and broken liquor bottles and stuff... Well, nature was still there. :) Need to look this Polistes species up later on.

It was wonderful weather today, so I went to this mighty crowded Frisbee park... Only had to dodge a few flying discs while I was bug hunting. :)

Had time to shoot pictures at the VEG (Victoria Master Gardeners Gardens). Only a few wasps in evidence. This female was nectaring on Strelitzia reginae, Bird of Paradise plant

At lunch today, I explored this little dried up pond and the dried up creek that would feed it... Spent LOTS of time by a Baccharis to watch pollinators too. Great fun. :)

I thought P. apachus, but the markings on the thorax are not right for that.
