When I first saw this armored sea cucumber on a rock on a jetty at a minus tide, I had never seen anything like it, and had no clue what branch of life it even came from! No one I know here has ever seen one, but looking through the guidebooks and photos, I'm decently sure I found an armored sea cucumber.

This is the only place I have ever seen these armored cucumbers, but they are quite common here. Saw 10. Night low tide on the city dock (-5 ft), on limstone riprap.
