The wikipedia page which our taxa page links to suggests that their colour is dependant upon the amount of sunlight they receive, in which case I wouldn't expect to find red and green variations side by side.

I think this is what this one is. Scotts Point, north end of the Tohe.

The underside of a red sea anemone, still partially clinging to the rocks. Not sure whether this guy was damaged or exhausted by the heat of the day, I'll have to see whether it is still there next time I visit.
