Carmine Skimmer Orthemis discolor male Richard Moya Park, Travis Co., Texas 26 August 2007 Three shots posted; two of mature males and one of a younger male. Note the cherry-red eyes and frons on this species compared to Roseate Skimmer. The over bug is also brighter. There are other differences that can be seen in-hand and these individuals were also confirmed that way.
