Found on Skyline Trail just before the junction to Huckleberry and Pinehurst Trails. The mole was observed foraging above ground near a creek. Unknown how common it is for moles to be above surface.

No obvious signs of injury. Closest stand of plants included poison hemlock. I wonder if it accidentally nibbled some of the delicate green shoots that seemed to emerge after the rain.
