We found several of these guys on road late at night. I thought they had some pretty gnarly colors, and I also thought it was cool how highly variable they were. ID and locality info based off of my notes from 2004. I tried to update taxonomic changes. Thanks to my father, Dr. Tod Reeder, for having me on this trip.

These frogs seem to hide up in the trees outside of the mating season.

Dead, desiccated looking, reasonably sized frog. This track is near the ridge line and I know of no nearby bodies of water apart from the karori reservoirs which are on the other side of the pest-proof fence (perhaps where this individual was heading).
