I believe I can smell a blast of licorice when these 'scent horns' come out.

One of the guys in my building has a little garden outside his door with some fennel, and I've been watching it for swallowtails all summer but have seen nary a one. I guess I was just missing them, though, since their kids have shown up. Much cuter when they're wee like this.

I am guessing at the identification as there is so much damage to wings, and the color so pale I cannot be certain as to the species. Also, photo was taken in East Elliott section of MTRP, not shown on the map.
