Found at sunset on the pavement. Took pics when it hit the shoulder and then let it go on its way.

I'm sorry it's a blurry photo, but the distinct pattern can still be seen, hopefully enough to identify it. It's a poisonous snake that bit my dog. We had to treat her for pain and inflammation. I think it's a copperhead, but not sure if it's matching the photos I see online.

"I stepped right over this small (14"") Copperhead which was coiled up under some juniper slash on the Refuge's Rodgers tract. I'm glad it was a cool morning."

This Copperhead was guarding the entrance to Poison Ivy Sink, on the Refuge's Eckhardt tract, not far from the Shin Oak Observation Deck.
