Hippodamia convergensâconvergent lady beetle. Entomologists may prefer lady beetle to ladybug or ladybird but they are fighting a losing battle as long as the nursery rhyme is remembered. The lady beetles are nesting in the California fescue at the spot where visitors enter the canyon path. There are thousands of them. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA
