Description:
I never saw antennae like this...this "strange ground beetle" flew to the light bulb short after sun set. Short after ants were heavily attracted by the exudes of its antennae. Due to ignorance I interfered - pushing the approaching ants away - in order "to protect my model", if I'd only known that the ants were just takers...L: ca. 15mmHeteropaussus hastatus WESTWOOD, 1850 ???Genus: Heteropaussus THOMSON, 1860 ?Subtribe Heteropaussina JANSSENS, 1953Tribe: Paussini LATREILLE, 1807Subfamily: Paussinae LATREILLE, 1807 (Ant nest beetles, Fhlerkfer)Family: Carabidae (ground beetles, Laufkfer)Suborder: AdephagaOrder: ColeopteraIndonesia, W-Java, Bogor, vic.
