Growing solitary. Pileus diameter 14 mm, stipe 3 mm long and 5 mm in diameter; very gelatinous, specially hymenium; smell none; no SP; neither mature asci nor spores seen. Discina perlata is an early spring lignicolous species growing almost exclusively on Picea abies.
