(1 m) long with each flower about 2 inches (5 cm) across. This is a smaller relative of the Giant or Tiger orchid (Grammatophyllum speciosum), the largest orchid in the world with pseudobulbs more than 8 ft. (2.5 m), racemes of about 10 ft. (3 m) with each flower 4 inches (10 cm) wide, and growing to weigh a ton or more!**NOTE**While I enjoy orchids, as an environmentally conscious orchid grower in Hawaii, I am proactive when it comes to removing and properly destroying any and all seed pods from the plants so as not to encourage their spreading into our fragile native Hawaiian forests.
