Pyrola chlorantha has a circumboreal distribution throughout the northern latitudes of Eurasia and America. However, in Slovenia it is the rarest of all four species of the genus Pyrola. It is a known medical plant, used for example by Kayenta Navaho tribe in north America in gynecology, as haemostatic and in many other medical problems.
