Description:
Pontia protodice, Family Pieridae (Whites and Yellows). This one was in my front yard around 4:40 PM. More detail is in the large view.This species ranges in the southern United States (irregular farther north), with three broods occurring from March through November.Says bugguide.net/node/view/3557: "Larvae feed on mustard family (Brassicaceae), including Cabbage (Brassica oleraceae) as well as caper family (Capparidaceae) including Rocky Mountain Bee-plant (Cleome serrulata).
