Echis omanensis: Oman Saw-Scaled Viper
Description:
Adult from Fujairah, UAE.This species was recently split from E. coloratus, as it is quite disjunct and was apparently distinct genetically and morphologically. They can be distinguished from the nearby E. carinatus by smoother-appearing scales, a wider head, and habitat difference (rocky vs. sandy areas).Several were found crawling near a wadi.
