Family: MimosaceaeThorny shrub or small trees up to 3m tall.Leaves bipinnate, 5-6cm long, pinnae 4-8 pairs, spines short, straight, paired; Flower heads 1cm across, bright yellow, solitary, axillary, peduncle bracteate at apex, flowers fragrant. calyx companulate, petals nited, stamens many, shortly connate at base, pod 5-8cm long, 1 cm wide.one pod per head.often cultivated or run wild in tropics.
