Image of Rosa hemisphaerica J. Herrm.
Description:
Rosa hemisphaerica is one of the rarest and least known wild roses. It occurs in Armenia and in Iran and was used in old hybrids because it is also one of the only yellow roses ! We have found it in a wash near Jermuk. Lots of beetles enjoyed its pollen, passing from the yellow roses to red poppies that offered more pollen.
