Description:
Relict conifer area is sugar pine type. Scattering incense cedar in ravine bottom. Surrounding chaparral on north slopes is a mixture of Arctostaphylos glandulosa, Ceanothus integerrimus, and scrub Quercus chrysolepis. Ridge tops practically pure manzanita. South slopes of distant ridge a chamise type. Relict island of conifers at farther end of ridge in line with Coulter pine in foreground appeared to be western yellow pine. Quad name: Junipero Serra.
