These are interesting creatures. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taeniopoda_eques Wiki says they are rather toxic to eat and will spew a foul chemical at enemies, the spitting grasshopper. The black color is used to help them thermoregulate, and the bright yellow and green is to indicate they are not good to eat.
