Image of Diplognatha gagates (Forster 1771)
Description:
Larvae apparently developing in roof thatch (that's were I caught the beetles, which were landing on the roof of a hut) and in large bird nests. On the photos I discovered a red mite - don't know whether it accidentally climbed the beetle while I was taking pictures, or if it is a phoretic species.
