Description:
This organism was found in an area adjacent to a private home in Hixson, Tennessee. This organism has been identified as a Eastern Cottontail. Eastern Cottontails are vertebrates and are one of the most commonly found mammals in the United States. This organism is mostly found in dense grassy areas and areas located near woodland edges. This organism was seen along a woodland edge. The main predators are Domestic Dogs and Coyotes. The population of the Eastern Cottontail is declining due to habitat loss.
