"These 3 Tuatua have byssus (beard), most on the smallest, least on the biggest. Also on Large trough shells, Triangle shell, and Green-lipped mussel. Often see it on mussels, not so often on the others. ""All bivalves have the ability to secrete sticky threads known as byssal threads.
