"With a naturalist club called The Wild Ones, I took a trip to Mason Farm with the primary goal of watching the mating display of the American Woodcock. After hiking and seeing a variety of other wildlife, we arrived at the clearing at dusk. Chorus frogs were chirping in the background, and as the diurnal birds began to quiet down, the woodcocks started to make their ""Bweep!"" calls. Periodically, one would take off in the air and fly high overhead before landing again. Because it was dark, my only photographs are stillframes taken from shaky video. I do have audio recordings, though, of both the calls and the wingbeats."
