Image of Mexican Narrow-mouthed Toad
Description:
A group of individuals from the San Antonio Zoo, Gladys Porter Zoo, UT at RGV, TxDOT, TPWD, and TNC were searching ephemeral ponds in US 77 ROW in Willacy County for black-spotted newt larvae. Searches also took place under any cover around the margins of the ponds. Two sheep frogs were dug out of the soil beneath a broken top snag by the surveyors. Multiple experts were in attendance to verify identification.
