Image of Truncated True Katydid
Description:
This dude was found in my yard before my aunt mowed the lawn. It was huge and very fat. It may be a bit of a hide and seek photo but it is a very interesting insect. I have seen these before but I don't know the specific name. It was green with very thick veins in the wings. It was summer when I found this photo. It is by far one of the largest little beasties I have seen. It was big and green. I have seen these at night but on occasion I see these in the day time. These are so cool; weird, maybe but still beautiful. It is a very interesting insect. I also heard that if startled these things scream or hiss.
