These are Monk Parakeets and they can be found in Texas in the downtown Everman area. They build their nest on the power lines near the transformer boxes. The nests are huge and are made with tons and tons of sticks. They are nests for whole bird communities. Downtown Everman is full of birds and full of nests. These Parakeets are very chatty and stay close to the city. They are sizable birds and are a brilliant green and white with a yellow beak. Several can live in a nest.They are very sociable creatures. I have taken many photos of these guys when my aunt used to teach out there. They are very interesting. The nests they build are huge and are justa huge ball of sticks. I don't know how big they are or how heavy but these guys are something to see.
