Description:
In the first photo you see a male in breeding plumage, in the second you see a female and a male in non-breeding plumage, all taken at the same place, same time, same day. Kinda neat. (It's a really cool little cafe in Puerto Viejo where they put out fruit to attract the birds. It clearly works.) Also according to the Garrigues guide and others, their range is mostly on the west side of Costa Rica and the North central Caribbean, but these guys were on the far Southern Caribbean. I've found several other accounts of them being there so maybe the range-maps need to be redrawn :)
