Description:

Summary[edit] Description: In early September we released 82 endangered pallid sturgeon into Lewis and Clark Lake. They were stocked at three different locations from Springfield, SD to Lynch, NE. These sturgeon were born at Garrison Dam National Fish Hatchery and raised at Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery. They are about a year old. Before they were released, we gave them their PIT (Passive Integrated Transponder) tags. These are 10 digit microchips that allow us to identify the fish's age, gender and family history.
