Description:

Summary[edit] Description: LAS CRUCES, N.M.–Agents from southern New Mexico overcame challenges this week that culminated into the seizure of illicit drugs and the arrest of two wanted felons. On Oct. 2, Las Cruces Agents assigned to the Checkpoint on Interstate 10 were conducting immigration inspections when a Toyota pick-up entered the inspection area. Agents became suspicious of the driver's mannerisms when he approached the inspection area. Records checks revealed the vehicle was stolen, so the driver was referred to secondary inspection. The driver then accelerated away from the checkpoint at a high rate of speed, driving erratically in an attempt to evade agents. The New Mexico State Police were notified and assisted by successfully deploying a controlled tire-deflation device on the truck. The driver pulled over to a stop, but two subjects later identified as Anthony Loyd Moss and a juvenile relative, fled the vehicle on foot. After a short foot chase, both were taken into custody.
