Description: A large and impressive-looking antelope closely related to the Gemsbok of southern Africa. This is the northern subspecies (Oryx beisa beisa) which extends through Nortehrn Kenya into the horn of Africa whilst the other subspecies (Oryx beisa callotis) -the Fringe-eared Oryx is restricted to south-east Kenya and eastern Tanzania.
