Description:

Summary[edit] Description: On Thursday night and last night I ran the trap for a right old mix of moths, unfortunately numbers are still pretty poor here but new species keep the interest and the list increasing. On Thursday I had 17 moths of 11 species which is pretty good going here, but last night was considerably lower with just 6 moths of 6 species. And just this afternoon i've added Anthophila fabriciana to the year list, making it 5 new for years over 2 days, hardly disappointing. Best moth over the last few days was a pristine Brindled Beauty from this morning, having not seen one in 11 years, I now get two in 2017 and both from the garden! I just love the sporadic ways of mothing at times Catch Report - 20/04/17 - Back Garden - Stevenage - 1x 125w MV Robinson Trap – Full cloud cover mild with a minimum of 9c Macro Moths 1x Angle Shades [NFY] 1x Oak-tree Pug [NFY] 1x Shuttle-shaped Dart [NFY] 3x Brindled Pug 2x Clouded Drab 1x Common Quaker 2x Hebrew Character 1x Nut-tree Tussock Micro Moths 1x Emmelina monodactyla 2x Epiphyas postvittana Catch Report - 21/04/17 - Back Garden - Stevenage - 1x 125w MV Robinson Trap – Cloudy but clearing then rain early morning, mild at first - min 8c Macro Moths 1x Garden Carpet [NFY] 1x Brindled Beauty 1x Common Quaker 1x Nut-tree Tussock 1x V-Pug Micro Moths 1x Anthophila fabriciana [NFY] - Daytime.
