Description:
Summary[edit] Description: A female carpenter bee browses at a Cleveland Sage flower in late June. Note her pollen collection on her right hind-leg (seen through her wings) and the heavily dusted abdomen. These bees are usually seen without much, or any, pollen on their backs (dorsal abdomen)--I don't know where she got dusted. Note, too, that it appear she's piercing the blossom to rob its nectar, since she cannot reach down inside it. Date: 28 June 2015, 12:02. Source: CarpenterBee_female_ClevelandSage_1715.
