Summary[edit] Description: Andropogon gerardii (big bluestem, at center) is common along roadsides and in relatively undisturbed settings where prairie species are naturally reassembling. The inflorescence at left belongs to Sorghastrum nutans and that at right to Andropogon scoparius, two other grass species co-dominating with big bluestem in this patch of prairie.
