Photographed here in a wet meadow north of Willits, Baker's Meadowfoam (Limnanthes bakeri) is a rare plant endemic to Little Lake Valley in the area around Willits, Mendocino County, California. Taxonomic features seen in this image that help to distinguish this species from related ones include the usually unlobed leaflets (see leaf with three leaflets at base), the deflexed old petals emerging between the calyx lobes, and the tubercled fruits (visible in the full-size image display).
