Kākā (Nestor meridionalis septentrionalis) parrot sap-feeding on an exotic Norfolk pine tree in a suburban garden in Wellington, New Zealand. The kākā has peeled back the bark and is licking the sap with her brush-tipped tongue. She is a banded kākā from the Zealandia EcoSanctuary population and is known to be a breeding female.
