Description: Hydnellum concrescens (Pers.) Banker Image location: Borovoye National Park, Akmola District, Kazakhstan Cap: 3-6 cm wide (for single mushroom), often accreted by two up to by 5 or more, almost flat or shallow vase-shaped, often asymmetric, concentric coloured reddish and brown with outer white ring, indistinct radial hairy; lower side is hairy with short spines, cream-white, brownish or pinkish-white. Stalk: 2-3 cm long, 2-4mm thick, fine hairy and brown. Edibility: stiff as a wood bark. Habitat: small group or crowded clusters in wet places on the ground in pine-tree forest with birches.
