Description:
Solanum wallacei—Catalina nightshade. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 1B.1 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA and elsewhere). Found only on Santa Catalina and Santa Cruz Islands in the northern Channel Islands as well as Guadalupe Island of Baja. The attractive purple berries as well as foliage are toxic. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
