Ctenolepisma lineata (23110754900)
Description:
Summary[edit] Description: The bathroom monster: - Ctenolepisma lineata (Insect of the family Lepismatidae) - Four-lined Silverfish - German: Kammfischchen. Seen in Graz/Styria/Austria. Body length about 15mm. I found it sitting in our bathroom. It remained absolutely motionless for some time which gave me the occasion to try a series of 5 photos with slightly varying focus. When I didn't look for a moment, it was suddenly gone. Probably it is still hiding somewhere in our bathroom. The natural life span of the Silverfish family is two to eight years! it looks impressive but these animals are totally harmless and can be tolerated in your house as long as they do not occur in large numbers. The images were later stacked with the help of the Helicon focus software. Contrast and saturation were enhanced with Photoshop.
