Since writing the above notes I have to record thedeath of my httle larkHng.* He fell a victim to an avian Hunas have several other birds this season. It is stranse whatdelight some birds take in strafing any new-comer in theiraviary; whether introduced or born there seems to make nodifference. Unfortunately in a large aviary nothing can bedone to prevent it, as it is impossible to catch up any individualbird, and one hesitates about using a shot gun, where manyvaluable birds are about. The Finch-Larks, at the time of writing (June 20th) areI believe incubating another clutch of eggs, but I have not yetlocated the nest. ^»
