Summary[edit] Description: Español: El escorpión negro, o (Heterometrus longimanus), de la familia Scorpionidae, reside en la regiones tropicales de Asia, particularmente en el sureste, en Singapur, Malasia y Tailandia Los escorpiones negros típicamente viven en la selva y anidan bajo leños y otros escombros naturales. La mayoría del tiempo en que estos escorpiones están sobre la tierra cazan insectos, los cuales son una de sus fuentes de alimento. Este escorpión es más grande que la mayoría de los escorpiones; tiene un promedio de longitud de 4 a 4 1/2 pulgadas; es conocido por tener un término de vida entre mediano y largo (aproximadamente hasta siete años) y es muy resistente. Bajo la luz directa del sol, el color del Escorpión Negro es de un negro profundo, sin tintes de otro color, mientras que la especie del Escorpión Asiático parece tener sombras verdes o azuladas.
