Hummingbird Moth or white lined sphinx moth (Hyles lineata) with monarch on showy milkweed 01 (14610510130)
Description:
Summary[edit] Description: A hummingbird moth or white lined sphinx moth (Hyles lineata) with monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) nectaring on showy milkweed (Asclepias speciosa) on Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge (Wyoming, United States). Believe it or not, there was also a broad-tailed hummingbird feeding on the same patch of milkweed, but did not capture in the photo. Milkweed species provide an incredible food source for many species of wildlife. Photo: Tom Koerner/USFWS. Date: 31 July 2014, 12:19.
