Description:

A kosher certificate dated 23 Av 5661 (8 August 1901) assuring that Gan-Shmuel's etrogim (Citrus medica) are appropriate for performing the Sukkot holiday ceremony. The etrogim orchard of Gan-Shmuel was planted before the kibbutz was established. The certificate reads: "The etrogim placed in this box, the number of which is (one etrog), are from Gan-Shmuel in Hadera, which we studied and examined and realized that they are not the product of grafting at all, nor are they tevel, nor are there any other concerns about them, and they are appropriate for blessing by the meticulous without any concern or doubt."
